TORCEDOR – THE ART OF CIGAR ROLLING
The craft of the torcedor can trace its roots back to the cigar rolling factories of Cuba. Planting the tobacco, cultivating it, storing it and, finally, rolling the cigar is a complicated process with more than 90 steps. That is why the production of quality cigars is a fully manual process to this today. The main purpose of a torcedor is to hand-pick the best tobacco leafs for a cigar and then roll them in such a way so that the cigar’s girth and length are perfect, ensuring a steady airflow for an exquisite smoking experience. Possessing an eye for the right leafs and mastering the perfect rolling technique is what is at the core of the torcedor’s craft. A good torcedor can strike the ideal balance between the cigar’s strength, odor, burning time and shape.
